The concept of Blocks is based on modular synthesizers, where you connect individual modules such as an oscillator or filter together, and then control these using modulation sources such as a keyboard, sequencer, LFO or envelope. Without being able to dive into the guts of Reaktor (the source code isn't available) it's impossible to say for certain, but when you add a block it presumably creates not just the block but some input and output buffers in memory. Blocks is an exciting addition to REAKTOR 6 and makes programming your own synth very easy. Buggy plugin mode does not do anything, but opening in a dedicated process shows that the window is initially very tiny (only a window frame is visible, 0x0 pixels?) but can be resized and will reveal the plugin UI, leading me to believe that REAPER is somehow unable to figure out how big the UI is. I use Reaktor a lot, and on Apple silicon Macs, it's preferable to use the AU version over the VST version because AU supports native bridging without an external host, so the UI doesn't open in a top-level window.
